Keeping regular sleeping hours might be one way for women to stay slim. A study found that young college women who went to bed and woke up at the same time every day had lower body fat than women in the study who maintained irregular sleeping patterns. Sleeping between 8 and 8.5 hours was associated with the lowest body fat among the 330 participants, while sleeping less than 6.5 hours was associated with higher body fat.

The study did not look at exercise or other lifestyle patterns among the women. Regular sleeping patterns may be a sign of overall more regular and healthy life style choices.
